how to locate a network printers ip address?
« on: August 14, 2007, 09:48:30 PM »

Depending on the type of printer that you are using, and the type of network you have setup, it is usually something along the lines of going to the printer and scrolling through the menu like in many hp printers and then printing out the info/configuration page which will tell you the ip address of the printer if one exists, some printers have a jet direct card or adapter installed, and you can get the ip address of the adapter/card if you just press the button, and it will send out a test/configuration page so that you can administer the printer/unit. Also, you can likely look at your dhcp leases, and based upon the host name see what ip corresponds to the printer related host name.
